Summer Recipe INCA'S GOLD Chia Fresca

Chia Fresca

(Mexican Lemonade with Chia Seeds)


  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Slices of lemon or lime for garnish (optional)
  1. In a jar or glass pitcher, combine the chia seeds and water. Stir well to prevent clumping, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally during this time to make sure the chia seeds are evenly distributed.

  2. After 10-15 minutes, you will notice the chia seeds have absorbed some of the water and formed a gel-like consistency. Stir again to break up any clumps.

  3. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the chia seed mixture. Stir well to combine.

  4. Sweeten the drink with honey or agave syrup, adjusting the amount to your taste preferences. Stir until the sweetener is fully dissolved.

  5. Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and pour the Chia Fresca over the ice.

  6. If desired, garnish each glass with a slice of lemon or lime.

  7. Give the drink a final stir before serving. The chia seeds will add a slight texture to the drink, which is part of the appeal of Chia Fresca.

  8. Serve chilled and enjoy your refreshing Chia Fresca!

Feel free to adjust the amount of lemon juice and sweetener according to your taste. You can also experiment with other citrus fruits like lime or orange to create different variations of Chia Fresca. Enjoy!
